This is my first scrappy quilt and another pattern by Emily Dennis of Quilty Love. Quilty Stars is a block based quilt which is easy to piece and another good beginner quilt. If you don’t have much space you can store the blocks easily and just lay it all out when you are ready to sew them together.
The majority of these scraps are by Art Gallery. Billow fabrics do some lovely AGF scrap bundles which is where I sourced these lovely blues and greens
I adjusted the pattern slightly by adding an inch to the sashing, as I wanted to space the stars out a little more.
I used a wavy line stitch to quilt, which is very forgiving (if you don’t look too close!) and adds lovely texture.
I’d love to make another Quilty Stars in a different colour way as it’s a nice project to pick up and put down and doesn’t require space whilst it’s a work in progress. However, with all the best intentions it probably won’t happen, as there are so many wonderful patterns out there that I want to make. Just never enough hours in the day!
