Quilt Design

Most of the time I am happy to follow a quilt pattern. I wanted to make a quilt for my youngest but I couldn't find a pattern that I felt was suitable for her.
I wanted it to be colourful and bold yet simple. Hence, this design was born. Inspired by her favourite sweets, I named the design.... 'Rainbow Belts'
It is also a 'Pride' quilt, which was made in the month of June to celebrate LGBTQ rights. This was also the first time I had a quilt long-armed. It felt like such a luxury to send it away and not have the laborious task of cramming it through the small harp of my domestic machine. I chose a Baptist fan pantograph to reflect the rainbow theme.
I did rather enjoy giving this quilt a 'party in the back' with leftover 'Rainbow belts'
You can see the Baptist fan pattern a little clearer in this picture.
I've had a few requests for the design to be made into a pattern ... maybe one for the future!
